COMPUTER SYSTEM
The CDG's computerised system has the following characteristics:
- Electronic receipting of incoming vehicle shipments and outgoing distribution instructions.
- On-screen dispatching via the most appropriate mode (including by car transporter,
rail, ship, and subcontractor).
- Vehicles can be tracked from start to finish. Such tracking data is available to
customers electronically.
- A complete history of each vehicle is recorded in the database, including transport,
storage, detailing, PDI, and damage events.
- Invoice generation.
- Full inventory control using bar-coding for vehicles in storage.
- Mobile data terminals (MDT) integrating both driver and compound staff to the overall
system.
